What is HAZOP?
A HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) is a structured form of Hazard Assessment, marking a crucial initial stride in the Hazard and Risk Assessment Life Cycle.
The core objective of the HAZOP study is to strengthen and validate that the controls and operations of your facility are fully robust and inherently safe to their fullest extent.
How is a HAZOP conducted?
A team of multidisciplinary experts with diverse knowledge and experience relevant to the system or process being analysed will define the scope and objectives of the HAZOP study. They will systematically identify plausible deviations from standard operation, followed by an evaluation of their potential consequences. The HAZOP study will also assess the protective measures in place to effectively mitigate the risks associated with these scenarios.
How Gexcon can assist
Through HAZOP, Gexcon’s team of dedicated HAZOP leaders, scribes, and facilitators can support clients from a range of industries with the identification of potential hazards and operability concerns and make recommendations on risk reduction measures. In certain instances, these recommendations may necessitate the project team to design suitable engineering solutions to ensure your facility remains fully functional and safe.
