Safety is what drives us.

Passionate about sharing knowledge to support strong process safety outcomes in industry.

At Gexcon, we are a global safety consultancy with a vision to make the world a safer place.

As leaders in the field of process safety and risk management, accident investigation and advanced dispersion, fire, and explosion modelling, we assist our clients in identifying their hazards, understanding their risks, and improving their safety performance.

Our experience arises from detailed knowledge of explosion phenomena built through years of extensive research, performing safety assessments, accident investigations, and physical testing at our dedicated large-scale facilities. At Gexcon, we develop, maintain and use FLACS®, the world’s leading simulator for dispersion, fire and explosion.

Founded in 1987 as a consulting brand of Christian Michelsen Institute Gexcon (Global Explosion Consultants) was established in 1998 as a company providing advanced safety engineering software, consulting and fire and explosion testing services.

Since then, we have come a long way and established ourselves as a world leader and preferred partner to a diverse range of industries. Over the years our expertise has grown significantly in the field of hydrogen safety having supported various hydrogen applications including process plant design, fuelling stations, transportation, nuclear, maritime, research and development, and accident investigation.

We take immense pride in our pivotal role in numerous hydrogen joint industry projects, including notable initiatives like HySea, PRESLHY, SH2IFT, and SAFEN. These collaborations underscore our commitment to advancing the field and driving innovation in the hydrogen sector.
