About the webinar

When performing a facility siting study, there are instances where the results of a consequence-based approach would require extensive mitigation strategies to comply with the appropriate criteria.

In those cases, a more detailed approach is required. Some companies adopt a risk-based or QRA approach; however, without clearly defined risk criteria, the analysis might result in complex and expensive building retrofits.

In this webinar, we present an alternative method that includes a greater level of detail to generate additional value when performing siting studies. Although most of the current facility siting studies are carried out with empirical tools, 2D calculations (EFFECTS) can be linked with 3D analysis (FLACS) to determine a more realistic impact representation in order to comply with API 752/753.

In these situations, CFD can be used to refine existing calculations and reassess impact zones to potentially reduce or eliminate expensive and complex retrofit requirements for some buildings.
