About the webinar
The need for alternative sustainable energy carriers that could contribute to reducing CO2 emissions arises due to fuel scarcity and climate change concerns.
Among others, hydrogen is seen to potentially address these issues, changing its applications from a component in industrial processes to an energy carrier with high efficiency and zero or near-zero emissions at the point of use.
While hydrogen is versatile, energy-efficient, low-polluting and a high-quality energy carrier, it has unique flammable and explosive characteristics compared to other hydrocarbons, which require further engineering measures to ensure its safe use and handling.
Consequence and risk analysis are parts of these critical measures needed to understand the effects and frequency of hydrogen releases during production, storage, transport, and distribution.
In this webinar, EFFECTS and RISKCURVES Product Manager Sonia Ruiz-Perez provides an overview of how safety professionals can use EFFECTS and RISKCURVES v12 to assess the accidental release of new energy carriers.
The results generated from performing consequence and risk calculations with these software tools can be used to support safe energy transition initiatives, including optimising the design of safe facilities, fine-tuning safety procedures, and implementing necessary preventive and mitigative measures.
EFFECTS and RISKCURVES are Gexcon’s consequence and risk modelling software of choice for integral modelling to analyse the effects and consequences of any incident scenarios.
