Gexcon signed an MoU with the University of Jaffna

On Wednesday (06/02/2019), Gexcon and the University of Jaffna (UoJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dedicated to research and education collaboration in process safety science, engineering, and technology.

The signing took place at the inauguration ceremony of the International Conference on Advanced Materials for Clean Energy & Health Applications (AMCEHA) 2019, held by UoJ and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences at Kailasapathy Auditorium of UoJ. Gexcon was represented by Sturle H. Pedersen (CEO) and UoJ was represented by Prof. R. Vigneswaran (Vice-Chancellor). This international conference was also attended by the Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Thorbjørn Gaustadsæther.

Through this strategic collaboration, both parties will support each other in enhancing the quality of education for graduate and post-graduate students and the quality of research as well as designing and conducting collaborative international seminars/ conferences in the areas of process safety science, engineering, and technology.

“We are very excited indeed to do this collaboration with UoJ. We will support UoJ’s initiative in including the FLACS lecture module in the curriculum of bachelor's and master’s degree of the university and we will also facilitate students from UoJ who wants to do research in the field of process safety and risk management. Additionally, we will together with UoJ conduct collaborative research and conferences,” said Sturle.
