The MOU with ICT Mumbai is focused on mutual benefits of academic relations at an international level to implement intensive cooperation on education and research collaboration to set up the ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Process Safety Science and Engineering The Institute was most popularly known as UDCT, Mumbai. Research has been an integral part of ICT since its inception and it has created over 500 first-generation entrepreneurs. Under the World Bank TEQIP program, the Maharashtra government granted it full autonomy in June 2004. Due to the recommendations of the Government of Maharashtra and the University of Mumbai, the ICT was granted Deemed University Status by the MHRD on 12th September 2008, with all provisions of the UGC for funding and support as the state-owned deemed university.
The MOU with FITT is to promote education, research, and development in Process Safety in line with several global Universities. This will be achieved by forming COE as a joint industry project and donating and sponsoring projects from industries. FITT, an industrial interface organization, was established at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) as a Registered Society on 9th July 1992.
