About the webinar

Controlling ignition hazards is critical to ensuring a safe facility. The ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU demands that electrical and mechanical equipment to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres is approved for that purpose. This approval can be performed by the manufacturers themselves if the equipment is to be used in zone 2 and 22 for electrical and mechanical equipment, and in zone 1 and 2 and 21 and 22 considering mechanical equipment.

To support the industry performing this approval process, a so-called self-declaration, detailed knowledge is necessary on gas and/or dust explosions and especially ignition properties and ignition processes.

In this session, you will learn how to perform ignition hazard assessments and the processes involved in issuing self-declarations depending on the classification of the hazardous area
