Gexcon is looking for a CAD Engineer to support the FLACS-CFD software team in designing required 2D and 3D geometries.

Role Purpose

Support FLACS-CFD team with designing requirements of 2D and 3D geometries using tools viz; PDMS/E3D/Navisworks or SP3D.

Proficient in Design & Draft modules and conversant with plant and piping Layouts.

To be successful in this role, you must have the following attributes:

  • Skillset of using AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, S3D CAD WORX, Navisworks, and MicroStation.
  • Diploma/ BE / B-Tech / in Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering.
  • Preferably 4-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to be detailed oriented, function in a multi-task environment, follow complex instructions and meet fast-paced deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Reliable (delivers quality output on time).
  • Good at taking initiatives and driving ability.
  • Proactive.
  • Good team player, helpful and service-minded.
  • Believes in complete cooperation and knowledge sharing .

The Role

  • 3D Modelling of piping as per PID.
  • 3D Modelling of equipment as per process datasheet.
  • 3D Modelling of structure as per layout requirement.
  • Clash, Consistency checks of the 3D Model.
  • Able to Export the Navisworks format (.nwd) to FLACS-CFD supported format (.rvm, .dgn, etc.)
  • Able to perform 3D geometry alignment with the FLACS-CASD, change color patterns, terrain adjustment, etc., to suit FLACS-CFD requirements.
  • Development of a 3D model with appropriate anticipated congestion (ACM) and able to provide a summary of congestion levels.
  • Should be able to split the geometry by layers and merge the objects such that they are exported to a single geometry file and carry out QA.
  • Ensure that 3D geometry files are in accordance with the company quality system.
  • Checking & reviewing IDC documents.
  • Interdisciplinary coordination with internal & external teams.
  • Involved in internal/external review and updating comments.
